tashina and james showed up with a bunch of props in their car… along with their dog. we had no idea where we were going and just started driving and luckily found our way to some great marshland, docks and aged canning buildings to shoot at.

giant green glasses and a clown nose were some of the few quirky things they had in their car.

and the grand finale of the random things in the car (and also made for a hilarious ending to the engagement session) …

their wedding is also just around the corner. stay tuned for some pretty snazzy and fun wedding photos!

engagement | michelle + lucas

Even the cold early midday breeze on Baker Beach couldn’t keep us from having a pleasant engagement shoot for Michelle and Lucas. Michelle is actually from Singapore and flew in for the weekend to do the shoot and visit her sweetheart Lucas. It is always so amazing to me how couples can endure such distances from one another but that’s love right?
candice + matt

Finally the rain stopped and the sun got a chance to shine through for Candice and Matt’s engagement session at Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland. Their two furry friends also joined us for some delightful fun. Although I think both dogs had a little too much fun rolling around in the grass and an all-you-can-eat grass buffet that they were not feeling so well toward the end of the day. Poor things!
Double D’s

Donkey + Dog. It happens! Who would ever think to see a dog walking a donkey on a sunny day while shooting an engagement session? I definitely didn’t but it sure came as a pleasant surprise to see such a sight. It completely made my day, as well as the engaged couple I shot, Candice and Matt. We were all in sheer delight.

engagement | vanessa + emmanuel
March 29th, 2009:

Vanessa and Emmanuel are the high school sweethearts that you hear about from friends that have been together for almost what seems forever. It was fun seeing them warm up to the camera as the engagement shoot went on and at times when Vanessa wasn’t quite sure how to pose, Emmanuel simply told his bride-to-be that she looked beautiful and to just kiss him. They made me smile a couple times with their sweetness.
engagement | laura + dusty
These two were very adorable – you can tell from the photos alone that the couple is completely head over heels for each other. The photos were shot at Jeff Fisher’s (Tennessee Titan’s coach) brother’s house, which was a wonder in itself! You can tell the house belongs to a regular safari adventurer – knick knacks from all around the world probably… not to mention a boar’s head on the wall above a grand piano! Also, a side note for brides-to-be since weddings have been running rampant all summer long, Laura happens to be a certified coach for “Bridal Bootcamps,” where brides can gather up all their girls for a day of fun “get fit” activities, ranging from group mile jogs to underwater yoga. That’s what I call quality girl time! You can contact Laura at bridalbootcamp.com for more details 🙂
