It was really exciting news when we heard Alvin was getting engaged to the lovely Michelle. We met Alvin a few years back when he was the videographer for the same gig as us. He’s super talented and is always traveling to crazy places and working on awesome projects, and it was really fun to shoot for somebody who we really respect. We’re excited to share their engagement session and even more excited about their big day 🙂

Our session with Jenna and Dimitri was in the hills of Orinda at their home. It was a pleasant surprise when they proposed to have a myriad of activities they wanted to include in their session. Chickens, canines, a rope swing, a tandem, and finally a glass of whiskey 😉
With Sheena and Josh, it was like hanging out with my fun-loving friends and making jokes the entire time. And it’s funny considering that neither of us knew what to expect since Sheena had contacted us through our website and immediately booked our studio for her special day without a consult.  It was quite an honor knowing that Sheena fell  in love with our style and aesthetics and was intent on hiring us for her wedding.  When I showed up for her engagement session, her immediate response was “You’re real!” And my reply, “Of course I am!” To that, we both laughed and the laughter continued the rest of the session.
Happy engagement to Sheena and Josh! We’re really looking forward to their beautiful ombre peach wedding next fall 🙂

Alex and Natalya’s engagement session couldn’t have been more perfect. They were ready to go when we met up with them and Alex had the whole itinerary for the session planned out. Locations were scouted and wardrobe were all in check and it was really great to see them have fun with all the little details of their 1920’s themed shoot 🙂

We’re super excited about Melinda and Cuong’s engagement. When they had mentioned bringing their little pup, Alexa, we didn’t expect her to be the cutie that she would be. See for yourself. These photos couldn’t have come at a better time too. Alexa definitely does the “Miley” better than Miley.

Meet Dianne, David and Dumpling. We had a great time with these three and it seems like couples have been requesting the inclusion of their pet buddies in their engagement session a lot lately. Lucky for us, Dumpling is probably one of the most mellow canine we’ve worked with 🙂 Here are some of our favorites!
When Evelyn first contacted me, she mentioned that she loves brightness, warm weather, and colors but other than that, she left the options for location wide open, so I chose one of my favorite places in the city, Flora Grubb 🙂 When the day for their session finally rolled around, it was everything but bright and warm that day. The fog had just rolled in before I met up with them and it was starting to get cold. It was a bummer that the weather wasn’t so great for Evelyn and Peter’s engagement session but despite the cloudy weather, they still managed to keep their spirits high and were very playful with each other 🙂
So when we first met Brian, it was on the set of an independent film that we were commissioned to shoot a movie poster for. Next thing we knew, he was calling us to shoot his wedding. We can’t begin to express how grateful for all the wonderful clients-turned-friends that we have met along the way 🙂 Here’s to Sadie and Brian and to the fun times to be had on their special day!
We had a great time with Valerie and Tony! And how did we meet them… funny story 😛 Let’s just say it was the last wedding of 2012 that we were covering and they were the videography all-stars (soon-to-be husband and wife all-stars) behind Bowtie Productions covering the same wedding. At the end of the wedding, Valerie and Tony  saw our team kick up our shoes in joy of completing the last wedding of 2012 and told us they liked us and they were going to hire us for their big day. Fast forward a few months later and low and behold…  we are super excited to be there for them!
They definitely let their personalities shine through during the session and the was no lack of laughter and jokes! Congratulations Valerie and Tony and see you soon 😉
