Mia + Hannah
Finally back from Costa Rica! Still haven’t unpacked since I’m off to Los Angeles again this Thursday.
Luckily, I had some time to do a delightful little shoot with two sweet little girls for their modeling portfolio, Mia and Hannah. Thanks again to Joli de Jackie for primping up the girls, although there was little primping necessary 😉
Check out some the photos from the shoot! You can view more images on my facebook.

Mia

Mia’s baby sister, Hannah is such a cutie! We played little games while shooting where Hannah would dance, walk, hop, or fly like a plane, and I would say freeze.

wedding | ann + hung

Ann and Hung, a very sweet couple and friends for almost forever, were wedded on October 17th, 2009. Their wedding was simple and fun, consisting of only a reception dinner at the 888 Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead, CA.

All the guests seemed to have reveled in pleasant libations. I think seeing the wedding singer getting deep into his song was my favorite photo of the night.

Also, thank you to Jim for accompanying me on this trip 🙂
exposeure exposed.

Saturday night was a big night for me and William. After all the planning since mid-February, things really felt like they paid off even if it was ten months of preparation work crammed into one night. (Things have been crazy hectic the past few weeks prior to the event hence my blog hasn’t been updated for a while.) In any case, good turn out, good times and good friends. Thank goodness 🙂

Thanks to all the models, MUAs, hair stylists and wardrobe designers/stylists that contributed to this huge event! I could not have done it without your talents as well!

Special thanks also to James Burns (Thank you for your love and support!), Ann Tran, Hung Tran, Jennifer Tran, Hong Howie, Sonja Skendzic Kellogg for helping me coordinate the big night (Cheers to family!) and of course to the wonderful people at Space Gallery for having me and to Doro for her delectable Sweetiecup cupcakes 🙂 You guys are the best!

postcard antics!
Just got back from Australia Sunday night and already the busy whirl is taking me for a spin!
I finally submitted my postcard/mailer design for my exhibit!!

Looks like I’m not going to have much free time the next few weeks but I’m SO excited!
Please contact me for more details about the exhibit.
The public reception will be held on Saturday, November 14th, 2009 from 6pm to 8pm.
Australia
Well… I can stop running “away with the pixies” now because I’m “happy as Larry” to be headed of to the land of Aussies, kangaroos, and didgeridoos tomorrow with my camera in hand. My “swags” are all packed with jeans and “jumpers” (as it will be the beginning of spring over in Melbourne) and I won’t be returning till the end of September. Many photos to come 🙂

engagement | vanessa + emmanuel
March 29th, 2009:

Vanessa and Emmanuel are the high school sweethearts that you hear about from friends that have been together for almost what seems forever. It was fun seeing them warm up to the camera as the engagement shoot went on and at times when Vanessa wasn’t quite sure how to pose, Emmanuel simply told his bride-to-be that she looked beautiful and to just kiss him. They made me smile a couple times with their sweetness.
wedding | michelle + craig

August 22, 2009:
Michelle and Craig were such a fun couple to shoot and I loved their spontaneous facial expression as it adds a lot of character and really emphasizes how not only joyful and beautiful a wedding can be but also how much fun a wedding celebration can be. The day started at The Los Gatos Inn with hair and makeup done by Jenny Nguyen. Michelle made a very sophisticated and beautiful bride! The ceremony, held at St. Joseph Cathedral Basilica in San Jose, CA, went beautifully and was very intimate, including only close friends and family. The reception was hosted at the small and cozy Nick’s on Main Street, an American Bistro, in Los Gatos.

All my best wishes and congrats to Michelle and Craig! Cheers!

model | hilarie
Hilarie was wonderful and it really only took less than an hour to get all the shots I needed with her. I absolutely loved the makeup that Jackie did on Hilarie – a mixture of glittery eyeshadow that just made Hilarie’s eye stand out so boldly!

model | angela
I only had at most 20 minutes to shoot with Angela because her husband had something special planned for her, which I thought was very endearing! Angela looked gorgeous and was absolutely fun to work with! Special thanks to Jackie Tran for doing the make up!

There will always be a soft spot for Leica’s in my heart ever since my brother first mentioned them to me. Fortunately, my brother and I had the chance to test out the M7 and M8 for a weekend during Leica’s Test Drive promotion. These rangefinder cameras are a lot of fun to use, not to mention their attractive design and impeccable quality. Now, Leica has come out with the Leica à la Carte – a fully customizable camera “available through an online Configurator, [where] a user can choose between the Leica MP or Leica M7, and then delve deeper into over four thousand technical and styling choices. In additional to a myriad of technical selections, options get as in-depth as the lens cap color, leather trim, viewfinder frame-lines, controls, and personalized engraving.” They even have custom lizard or ostrich embossing – further pushing the customization level into the more exotic realm!
Here is my custom Leica à la Carte w/0.58 focal length set for the 0.58x viewfinder magnification that includes the frame pair/frames for 28 and 90mm, 35mm, and 50mm (if and when I get one – price starts at 4560 USD):

engagement | laura + dusty
These two were very adorable – you can tell from the photos alone that the couple is completely head over heels for each other. The photos were shot at Jeff Fisher’s (Tennessee Titan’s coach) brother’s house, which was a wonder in itself! You can tell the house belongs to a regular safari adventurer – knick knacks from all around the world probably… not to mention a boar’s head on the wall above a grand piano! Also, a side note for brides-to-be since weddings have been running rampant all summer long, Laura happens to be a certified coach for “Bridal Bootcamps,” where brides can gather up all their girls for a day of fun “get fit” activities, ranging from group mile jogs to underwater yoga. That’s what I call quality girl time! You can contact Laura at bridalbootcamp.com for more details 🙂
