Welcome to the world, little guy ❤

Sierra was the sweetest. She would come over to lick little Mason’s toes whenever she heard him crying.

We can’t believe how fast time has gone by since we were in Maui to shoot Wen and Rodd’s beautiful wedding. And now their family has grown plus two. It was a joy to finally meet little Mason and the most nurturing labradoodle ever!

engagement | bianca + nick

Bianca and Nick just moved out to the west coast about three months ago as they’re both originally from upstate New York. Nick proposed to Bianca in front of all of her closest friends and family just a few weeks before they made the move out here and started this new journey together. They have been together for six years now and it is so apparent that they are still head over heels in love and ready to spend the rest of their lives together! Cheers to them!

travel | deutschland

From one cold place to another cold place. People thought we were nuts for wanting to explore a colder place but there were plenty more pros to a low-season jaunt across the sea, which was discovered during a month-long sabbatical to snowy German a few weeks ago. After a crazy year of non-stop shooting, editing and all things related to running a business, we needed to recharge and do something different since it’ll be my only vacation for 2014. As tempting as a sunny paradise seemed, we were drawn more to the castles set up high in the mountains and the giant snow-sprinkle trees in the Black Forest and the Bavarian Alps.

The trip started with an exhausting 25 hour flight, which left me passed out face down at a Turkish Kaffehaus in Berlin shortly after we landed. I was told there were some local students who were filming a skit the entire time my head was in the clouds. To my surprise it was only about 30 degrees Celsius outside, which was a lot warmer than some negative degree Celsius we were expecting it to be. Our itinerary included a day or few spent in each of the following places: Berlin, Cologne, a cliff located near Honau on the Swabian Alb, Baden-Württemberg, Füssen, Berchtesgaden, and back up to Berlin. No matter what part of the country we visited, there were thick layers of history everywhere: from gothic cathedrals to medieval castles and from Baroque palaces to communist-era apartment blocks. We’ll spare the rest of the details and encounters we accumulated for another time, but, despite all the tradition, Germany is a modern country and we managed to finagle invitations everywhere we went to get the real experience.

But now, it’s back to the reality of tight schedules and long nights of editing. To be honest, it has taken several days to recover from the jet lag and  settle back into the daily grind for the remainder of this year. We just wanted to take a quick minute to apologize for not remembering to put up our vacation responder during the entire month for those who have tried to reach out to us. We meant no lack of consideration or gratefulness for your inquiries and just wanted to make that clear.

wedding | cam + patrick

Cam and Patrick’s beautiful Santa Barbara wedding at the Historical Museum certainly evoked some romance of early Spanish California. Right when you walk onto the premises of the venue, you’re welcomed by the native and exotic landscape of vibrant green succulents. The rustic wooden beams supporting the stuccoed walls and bright terra cotta tiled roofs definitely look like they have held their weight since 1932, which was when the historical museum had its beginnings. With plenty of alfresco gathering space in the courtyards, this venue exudes a sense of relaxation and fostering connection to nature and the surrounding history. It’s no wonder why the lovely couple chose the charming place to complement their intimate and laid back wedding.

portraits | pilot season

Pilot season is finally here and it’s the time of year when the major television networks cast and film pilots for potential series pick-ups. It’s also the favorite time of the year when actors and actresses want to challenge themselves and grow as actors and can potentially score a sky-rocketing career! With at least 54 new pilots picked up so far for 2014, it’s looking like another crazy pilot season year. And this is when head shots really matter. This is also the perfect time to reach out to us for details if you catch our drift 😉

blurb | fashion + food

It’s crazy randomly happening upon archived work and thinking back at the thought processes that went into a shoot years later. I can definitely say that it’s been a long time coming and I’m constantly reminded of my roots in fashion photography when I look back at my older work. I remember the owners of the noodle restaurant coming to me and asking for a different type of shoot that welded fashion and food. This is still one of my favorite interpretations 🙂

Whispers of endearment were exchanged with many kisses here and there.

The sun warmed the streets of San Francisco quite nicely during our walk, so we thought it would be fun to let some leaves get some air.

It was like hanging out with old friends, but with the opportunity to capture the exuberance of their spirits and their love.
